The CBS Election Week 2016 #VoteOR
Now that the US is done voting, it’s time for the CBS Election Week 2016! Even if you already poured your heart and soul into the American election, spending 20 seconds on voting for the most spectacular CBS students is absolutely worth it. A high voter turnout is ideal, not only because of democracy but also because you can influence both academic and social conditions in your own study program and at CBS.
This week we’re practicing student democracy and voting for candidates in three different bodies: Board of Directors, Academic Council and your study program’s Study Board.
What’s in it for you?
The Board of Directors practices the highest authority at CBS. They are in charge of the school budget, long-term development and comprehensive strategy. Especially now that CBS has faced some rough financial cuts, having a student representative who has the full support of their peers is vital, since they are the voice of us students.
The Academic Council members are the academic advisers to the president of CBS. The students that we elect have influence on all academic matters, such as long-term academic strategy, issues of research and education and student-staff communication. Your fellow student might end up improving for example your academic profile.
Your program’s own Study Board influences your everyday life probably more than you know. In addition to being in charge of credit transfers and complaints, it decides on your program’s content, methods of introduction, regulations and even exam formats. The students from your program have gone through the same classes as you have, and therefore have opinions on how to improve them. By choosing the right representatives, you can make your own experience at CBS even more amazing, studies smoother and improve your student life.
So how can you make CBS great again?
All you need to do is to go to http://www.voteor.dk, check out the candidates, follow the instructions and feel good about your contribution.
Have an amazing week y’all.
