CPH this week: Week 38
To keep informed about the goods that the amazing city, COPENHAGEN, has to offer, here are some things to do this week. Also don’t forget to check out this week’s events at CBS!
TUESDAY / 20th
If you’re tired of looking at the pictures of your friends partying at the Burning Man festival, BURNING DINNER will uplift your spirits by gathering former, present and future burners to share the good vibes. Keep your stomach empty, mind open, and don’t forget to mark your calendar.
Admission: 30, -
And on the third Tuesday of each month (which happens to be this one), Mojo bar turns itself into an Afrobeat club. Nothing too big, nothing too special, perfect place just chill.
WEDNESDAY / 21st
While Wednesday are usually quite ones in Copenhagen, Culture Box is bringing in that good Berlin to Copenhagen with Magda and Martinez playing. Description is more than details, so just take a look.
Admission: 70, -
FRIDAY / 23rd
The National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst) organizes SMK FRIDAYS where you can enjoy a mix of art, talks, music & drinks. Amazing place, interesting (least to say) presentations, and more than enough corridors to explore.
Spend the weekend by joining the COPENHAGEN MAKER festival (23rd- 25th), where you can find yourself constructing solar panels for your phone, listening to talks about artificial intelligence and entrepreneurs and involving yourself in other do-it-yourself activities (don’t forget the drones, they there are always drones). Whether for one day or the entire festival, let your inner nerds free this weekend.
Admission: 80 (one day) / 200 (partout)
Speaking of which, Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship is driving to the Web Summit talks in Lisbon. So if you’re into tech or entrepreneurship (or both) you’ll find this interesting.
Admission: 35, -
Tivoli is closing their summer project Fredagsrock with three strong Danish profiles. S!vas + Gilli + Mellemfindamuzik will take over this Friday. All well-known and all representing the Danish rap scene. Fan or not, definitely an event to consider.
Admission: Entrance to Tivoli
SATURDAY / 24th
Shawarma lovers will like this one. Nørrebro is organizing their 4th annual SHAWARMA COMPETITION this Saturday where the best places will be awarded. Asking what’s in for you? Firstly, if you’ve been there, done that (ate a shawarma in Norrebro that is), then you can vote for your favorite until Tuesday. Secondly, you can join the 200 tasters team that will try out the dishes during the event (read the description on how to get a spot). No better way to kill the night before’s hangover.
To warm up before the Christiania’s grand birthday next week, swing by the hidden Operaen to listen to some Reggae beats. They also have a Trypical Cumbia evening on Friday (23rd). Away from the mainstream locations, this is a good chance explore the music scene of Copenhagen.
If you’re always the last one in the squad to go home on a Saturday night – KB18 is inviting you to their morning party, where they will extend their 5am closing time until 9am. With tech house/house/deep grooves this should get you covered for the night.
SUNDAY / 25th
URBAN TRAIL this Sunday is taking place where you get to join other runners for a 10km distance in the very centre of the city passing by the iconic spots of the city. Like, you literally run through the inside of the parliament and the theatre (video).
Admission: 299, -
Thank you for following all the way through, and I hope you guys have a great week in Copenhagen!
